The World:

Gairdra is a world of mulitple human cultures spread over a few continents and countless islands, and some not human cultures. This is a world whose story of creation goes back over two billion years to the first beings born of Chaos and Order.  These two forces each made their own servants, the Darklord and the Majera.  Through them, other creatures were made, until both sides built up armies to fight for them.  Some of their creations, like the dragons, use magic.  Others cannot.  Thus, inequality bred fear and greed from the Darklord's corruption.  Since the defeat of the Darklord over four thousand years before, the world has seen wars among those who were once united.  But with the return of the Darklord, those forces must set aside their differences and once more join together.  If they cannot, the fate of Gairdra lies in its destruction.
